Divine Power

"No one will be ale to stand up against
you all the days of your life.
As I was with Moses, so I will be with you;
I will never leave you nor forsake you."
(Joshua 1:5)

How often we long to know God's plans for our lives.  In Joshua chapter 1, after the death of Moses, the Lord has given Joshua [who was Moses' aide] the task of leading the Israelites across the Jordan River and into the land the Lord that was promised to them.  He makes a promise to Joshua here ...

A promise of divine power for accomplishing the task at hand.

There is one requirement:

"Be strong and very courageous.  Be careful to obey all the law of my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go.  Do not let this Book of the Law* depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it.  Then you will be prosperous and successful."
(Joshua 1:7-8; *Genesis - Deuteronomy)

Isn't it interesting that the Lord Himself associates success with the Word of God?

So when we want to be successful in the plans that God has for us ... When we desire to know exactly where He is leading us ... When we want to be assured of God's power in our lives ... We need not look any further than God's Word.

As you read His Word today, may you embrace God's divine power for accomplishing the task at hand.

The divine power -- Found in Him Alone.
